Over Paloma

From an early age I have participated in summer language courses in England, France and Canada and in 2013 I joined the Applied Linguistics Erasmus Programme at the University of Ghent. Those experiences have made me grow both personal and professionally. I can therefore integrate easily in multicultural environments. I speak English, French, Dutch, Catalan and Spanish, the latter two being my native languages. During my last school years before university, when was living still at my parents in Spain, I started to teach English to children. Later on, the mothers of those kids got interested in learning English and decided to team up and prepare themselves for the C1 Cambridge exams. Those times were great, so challenging and rewarded to see they all passed the exams and got the certification. Later on, during my Erasmus year in Gent I gave Spanish classes to university students at a school in Kortrijk. It was a great work experience and I enjoyed it very much. These recent years I've focused on learning myself, so I've invested my free time in getting the highest Dutch level at the University of Antwerp. I am a very organized person, which can be proved by the fact that in 2017-2018 I obtained a Master’s Degree in Medical and Healthcare Translation combined with a full-time job.

Motivatie

I'm an ambitious and target driven person with great deal of interpersonal, multicultural and communicative skills able to work under pressure both independently or as a part of a team. I'm very interested in Health, Communication and Digital Marketing. I can translate content from a marketing point of view using the right
keywords.

Mijn aanpak

I have a practical approach. After learning the very basics I like to make students talk and write common situations they can be at when traveling or living abroad, for instance. My boyfriend is Belgian and I'm his teacher of course, I get ideas every day about which things to teach, which things the students really need to know. I personally think listening to songs or watching movies is a great tool for learning and applying the knowledge acquired during the lessons.
